Surds and Indices Past Paper Questions (iGCSE Additional Maths Cambridge)

Important: in 2025, 2026, and 2027 syllabus, direct questions involving surds and indices (such as the questions below) have been removed.

Questions can still include surds and indices and so knowledge of these topics is still required.

As these topics are taught in the extended mathematics iGCSE course, it is assumed that you are able to use surds and indices in calculations.

Although this style of question will no longer be in the Additional Maths exams, I have included them here as they make an excellent set of challenge questions.
